What do you do, why do you do it? 

I’m a freelance illustrator because I cannot imagine doing anything else but drawing everyday. 

favorite thing to draw? 

Always changes! Right now, I think it’s be plants and furry animals. 

favorite Sammich?

Sammich is definitely my favorite food so this is impossible. As a compromise, I will give you my Top 3: Bahn Mi, Bryant Terry’s open-faced BBQ tempeh and carrot cayenne slaw, and Spak Bros Seitan Cheese Steak.

favorite beer?

Prosecco (sorry y’all-- I don’t have the gut for all those hops!)

What art supply could you not live without?

PENS! Microns, Pentels, Copics, LePens...I have so many it would definitely be a problem if they weren’t for my job.

favorite national park?

Hands down, Yosemite. That’s what heaven looks like—especially if you explore outside the valley. 

what's your spirit animal and why?

Probably an otter because we have similar personalities. I can be a real goof and am very easily amused. I also love to swim and when I have sugar, I bounce off the walls which is similar to their swimming techniques. 

Favorite book?

The Wild Trees by Richard Preston

Favorite music to draw to?

To be honest, I never draw to music. I listen to podcasts all day long, unless I have to write then I’ll put on instrumentals and ambient stuff. 

favorite hobby?

Plants. I’m obsessed with plants. I have so many inside and outside my house. My boyfriend had to cut me off at one point because I kept bringing them home. Plant’s

cats or dogs?

DOGS! TEAM DOGS ALL THE WAY!

favorite plant and or tree?

I have a special place in my heart for the fiddle leaf fig. It was the first big plant I ever took on. I was so nervous I was going to kill it, but 3 moves and 2 states later, it’s still happily in our living room and I have taken on many more leafy mammoths. 

favorite recipe?

Post Punk Kitchen’s Chipotle Mac and Cheese with Brussel Sprouts (but I always make it with broccoli and kale instead). I could make this in my sleep. It feeds us for days. 

Is there a project your advocating more awareness for? And why?

There are so many. I care so deeply about the environment and it’s inhabitants that I could list 100 causes here that need more attention. It’s the reason I’m a vegetarian and effects every lifestyle decision I ever make. I think we need to be much more aware of what is going on around us, and that reaches so far beyond environmental protection into just being human. I’m also an advocate for being kind to each other and treating yourself. Lastly, I’m an advocate for dessert. 

What were you in your past life?

I’m not sure exactly, but I think I must have enjoyed old age. I think I’ve always been an elderly person trapped in a young person’s body. I love just sitting on porches, talking, drinking wine, and just hangin watching people go by for hours. I go to bed early, can’t handle loud neighbors, I’m a terrible driver, and I already have elderly person health issues. Amazon tried to sell me Depends the other day, so it must be true.
